MEDIA ADVISORY, Aug. 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- MOPS International, Mother of Preschoolers, announces its annual convention with over 2,500 moms from across the U.S. & around the globe in attendance at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Fla. Speakers and artists include Julie Barnhill, Margaret Feinberg, Donald Miller, Naomi Cramer Overton, Shelly Radic, Go Fish, Mandisa, The Katinas and Richie McDonald. The convention runs from August 5-7, 2010.
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
MOPS has over 100,000 members who participate in more than 4,000 groups. Meetings are available in 30 different countries.
During this year's convention, hundreds of volunteer leaders will help moms make vital connections with other moms. They gather for training, inspiration and networking. These volunteer leaders, mothers themselves, serve several hours each month with MOPS International to facilitate MOPS groups where moms can find a support network and grow as women, mothers and leaders. The MOPS International headquarters staff works alongside these mom volunteers to provide strategic direction, leadership training and resources to equip and mobilize moms into leaders.
"We are excited to be in Orlando for this year's convention, and it is truly a testament to the dedication of our staff and volunteers that we were able to relocate our convention at all this year. We were originally scheduled to be held at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville until flooding devastated the city just 3 short months ago. Thousands of moms and their families changed their travel plans to be able to attend our convention, and it's a time to reconnect, refresh and reenergize. We continue to pray for families and businesses affected by the Nashville floods and are grateful to so many who helped us relocate to this wonderful location in Orlando, Fla.," said Christine Geerts, Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator, MOPS International, Inc.
