WASHINGTON, July 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Christian Film and Television Commission (CFTC) recently elected Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, Director and Senior Fellow of Concerned Women for America's Beverly LaHaye Institute, as a member of their Board of Reference.
Chairman of the CFTC, Dr. Ted Baehr, said that the CFTC Board of Reference is "our way of telling Hollywood executives that there are many influential Christian leaders who share our concern about the mass media of entertainment and its impact on our culture." Members of the Board of Reference, explained Baehr, stand with the officers of the CFTC as "they work with studio heads, executives and talent in the entertainment industry to help them understand the concerns of Christians so that the Truth will set them free from the confusion and degradation of our age."
Dr. Crouse said, "I look forward to working with the distinguished members of the Board of Reference for CFTC as we seek to influence the culture in more positive directions through high quality media that provides entertainment without corrupting those values that are necessary as a strong foundation for individuals, families and nations. Indeed, our goal will be to see entertainment used to effectively communicate Truth to people who are longing for something real on which to base their lives and something Significant to embrace that will provide meaning for their existence."
