QUEENS, N.Y., June 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- As summer storms rage across the Midwest, leaving death and destruction in their wake, some survivors struggle to find the meaning and purpose of their suffering. Author Christiana I. Chineme suggests that challenging life situations such as these are God's way of bringing forth our strengths in God Didn't Do It, He Only Signed Off On It: Living a Purposeful Life through the Storm (published by AuthorHouse).

"It is a natural instinct to remove yourself from immediate danger or an unpleasant feeling soon after the brain returns information to the sense organ as pain," writes Chineme. She adds, however, that "God does greater works through us when we remain faithful in hardship."

God Didn't Do It, He Only Signed Off On It attempts to explain how suffering and tragic events that shake one's foundations of faith to its core may actually be an opening to grow closer to God and a reminder of His power. Enlightening and provocative, the book explores the two possible paths one can take after pain: Withdrawal, or facing problems head on.

"The book will appeal to readers when they understand how God uses most of our problems to challenge that which we are so we can become more of who we are meant to be," says Chineme. She writes:

"God uses things we go through to teach us to always depend on Him, especially in our troubled times. But that effort begins to pay off when you give your heart and your problems over to God. When God gets hold of your pain or is put in charge of it, He remodels it to something better and less painful. The Bible says, 'The blessing of the LORD, it makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it' (Proverbs 10:22). The pain we bear in the name of the Lord makes us rich in every area of our lives, with no added sorrow."
