MILWAUKEE, Wis., Aug. 25, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Did you know that there are roughly 3-5 times the number of polar bears today than there were 50 years ago; Arctic sea ice increased by one-third in 2013, while Antarctic ice extent is at an all-time high; and that there is now almost the same global ice coverage as there was when scientists first began monitoring it in 1979?

J.D. King, director of Crying Wolf, a documentary exposing the corruption behind the wolf reintroduction to Yellowstone, and BLUE (Blue Beats Green), an exposé of the climate alarmist movement and out-of-control environmentalism, announces his new project Icebear.

King says, "If the 'consensus' of mass media and big politics can't get the relatively simple polar bear story right, then why trust them with something far more complicated, like global climate change?"

This documentary is especially relevant at a time when the Obama Administration and Pope Francis have joined forces in a bid to pass a binding global agreement at the Paris Climate Conference in December 2015.

Director J.D. King is passionate about the outdoors and discovering the best ways to balance nature, people, law, and liberty. King is joined in this project by Chris Leclerc, a commercial director and cinematographer who has worked with Sony, Discovery, LifeProof, and more, and by Debbie Bacigalupi, a California farmer's daughter-turned-activist who is a proponent of truth in science and politics.

The Kickstarter campaign, beginning August 25th, is seeking to raise $119,000 to start filming. Kickstarter donors can receive various rewards based on donation amount, including DVDs, a trip to the Arctic Circle with the film crew, and a trip to the Los Angeles premier.

"Kickstarter is a great tool for fundraising, especially for projects like this," said King, "and it is very important for us to raise the money for the movie through crowdfunding. This needs to be a film of and by the people so that our efforts can't be discredited as being funded by special interests."
