Christian Newswire/ -- Sam Childers, the Machine Gun Preacher, invites the public to join him for a series of special events during his Minnesota Tour 2015 Sunday, July 5th thru Wednesday, July 8th.
Sam Childers' life was the subject to a Hollywood movie, The Machine Gun Preacher starring heartthrob Gerard Butler as Sam Childers - Based on his bestselling book "Another Man's War." It illustrates the real life challenges that Sam experienced in Africa, the US and to a certain extent even today.
Sam Childers overcame a life of drugs and violence to embrace his faith in God and wage a 13-year war to free enslaved children in what are some of the most dangerous areas of South Sudan/Africa - His organization, Angels of East Africa maintains orphanages in South Sudan, Ethiopia and Northern Uganda. Late last year, 2013 a bloody coup attempt began that turned into tribal war in South Sudan…that conflict continues today. Sam and his team are actively involved in rescuing children in that area right now.
