MEDIA ADVISORY, July 7 /Christian Newswire/ -- The BigChurchDayOut returns to GOD TV's screens on Saturday July 10 at 7.30pm (EST) featuring the varied sounds of top international artists such as Hillsong United, Switchfoot, Israel & New Breed, Toby Mac, Tim Hughes and Brenton Brown.
Recorded in the UK in May, the BigChurchDayOut broadcast can now be watched by a potential global audience of nearly half a billion people who have access to GOD TV in their homes. The event is fast becoming one of the UK's premier Christian celebrations. Since its massive debut in 2009 with 15,000 people, it has grown rapidly with 25,000 people attending this year.
BigChurchDayOut is the brainchild of Tim Jupp, a founding member of the UK rock legends, Delirious?, which disbanded in November 2009. Tim now devotes much of his time to see people of different backgrounds come together to celebrate the Christian faith in events that offer something for the whole family.
"Delirious? helped to facilitate huge gatherings in many countries and this has given me a vision to see this kind of thing in the UK, where the Church can come together to encourage each other," said Tim Jupp. "Also, being connected with so many worship leaders, I feel I can give back to the Christian community by exposing the Church to more leading artists."
Popular bands featured in the BigChurchDayOut line-up on GOD TV this weekend are Hillsong United, the worship team from Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia; the US alternative rock band, Switchfoot, from San Diego, CA, which has seen multi-platinum success; and Israel & New Breed from Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston in Texas.
Talented individual artists include: Grammy award-winning producer, and songwriter, Toby Mac of DC Talk fame, who now has a successful solo career; renowned British worship leader Tim Hughes, Director of Worship at Holy Trinity Brompton in London; and South African born worship leader, Brenton Brown well known for his recordings with the Vineyard Church in the UK and the hit song, "Everlasting God".
