NASHVILLE, April 22, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), the world's preeminent association of Christian broadcasters and communicators, officially announced today that it has changed the dates of its next convention to Monday, February 23 - Thursday, February 26, 2015.

"After much prayer, thought, input, and discussion, I am pleased to announce that the 2015 NRB Convention has been changed from a Saturday-to-Tuesday event to a Monday-to-Thursday event," shared NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. "The vast majority of leaders from across the association were in favor of this move, and we are very optimistic of the positive impact the decision will have on the convention's attendance and on the convention program itself."

The NRB International Christian Media Convention takes place every year and draws a wide range of participants, including radio and TV station owners and operators, pastors, church media professionals, radio and TV program producers, college educators, students, film producers, web and mobile developers, social media managers, marketing representatives, and ministry staff members.

The planned dates for the 2015 Convention were originally Saturday, February 21 - Tuesday, February 24, 2015. However, to open up the convention to more church pastors, church media professionals, and music ministry leaders, the dates were changed to after the weekend. The decision to move the dates also allows media professionals who attend the convention as part of their job function to have the weekend to spend with their families.

Though last year's convention was the most-attended convention in the past five years, NRB leaders felt the latest change was necessary as part of a larger effort to revitalize the world's largest annual gathering of Christian communicators.

"Unless they are preaching or presenting at the NRB Convention, most of these church leaders simply will not skip a Sunday for the event," commented NRB Chairman of the Board Bill Blount. "For many who have wanted to attend the convention but were unable to because of commitments to their churches and families, this decision is good news indeed!"

More details and registration information will be released later this spring and will be available at the convention website, NRBConvention.org.

"Please be in prayer for our President, the Staff, Executive Committee, and the Program Committee, as this change will provide opportunities to make some needed adjustments to our program and convention activities," added Chairman Blount.

NRB 2015 will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville.
