ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 4, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- Maribeth Stewart Blogoslawski, President of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) and Vice President of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations (WUCWO), will be awarded The Most Reverend Joseph F. Donnelly Memorial Award for an individual at the 50th Annual Social Justice Dinner and Awards on October 23, 2018 in Plantsville, Connecticut.

The Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford commends Maribeth Blogoslawski not only for her service to her parish, the NCCW and WUCWO, but also for her efforts to raise awareness of the plight of the Christians in the Holy Land by connecting school children in the Holy Land with children in the United States, and for her advocacy work at the United Nations to reduce poverty, violence and human trafficking.

The Most Reverend Joseph F. Donnelly Award is given to those individuals who are motivated by "the principles of justice and charity revealed in Biblical literature and Church teachings. Their work will have made an impact on significant numbers of persons, or set a precedent or example which affected many. Their achievements will have effected progress towards eliminating social, economic or political injustice or discrimination and towards guaranteeing basic human dignity and rights as defined in Catholic social teaching."
