LANSDOWNE, Va., Aug. 25, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Dr. William Brown has been named the national director of the Colson Fellows Program (formerly the Centurions Program) and senior fellow for worldview and culture. Brown joins the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview after having served as president of Bryan College and Cedarville University. He is the executive producer of the award-winning DVD series re:View, a worldview curriculum for high-school students and adults that continues to influence new generations of Christians.

Colson Center President John Stonestreet hailed the appointment: "Bill Brown is a giant in Christian worldview education. I can't think of anyone better qualified to lead the Colson Fellows Program. Along with Chuck Colson, Bill has deeply influenced how I think about culture as a Christian. He's committed to Christ, committed to discipleship and committed to seeing Christ followers advancing the Christian worldview."

The Colson Fellows Program (colsoncenterfellows.org), established by Chuck Colson in 2004 as the Centurions Program, has nearly 1,000 graduates. The one-year intensive program prepares Christians of strong faith to bring the Christian worldview to bear in their spheres of influence: business, education, government, charity, medicine, etc.

"Having the privilege of leading where Chuck Colson led and invested so much of his time and energy is humbling," Brown said. "We will be aggressively expanding the reach of the Fellows Program, both at the national and local levels, to equip more leaders to engage the culture.

"Recent events are a clarion call to redouble our efforts to make real disciples," he added. "And teaching the Colson Fellows to train others is a proven biblical model to exponentially grow the numbers of those equipped to make a difference in the world for Christ."

Brown has written more than one hundred articles for journals, magazines, newspapers and encyclopedias. He is the author of Making Sense of Your Faith, Where Have All the Dreamers Gone? Observations from a Biblical Worldview and Making Sense of Your World, a book used by many universities as an introductory text to worldview/philosophical thinking. His writings have been quoted in various national newspapers and magazines, including Reader's Digest and Christianity Today.
