The to-be-named weekly concert series will premiere in early 2009.

Gospel Music Channel Production crews will be at the National Quartet Convention (NQC) this week at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center in Louisville, KY, where they will shoot performances from among the more than 50 artists expected to appear during six-day event filled with afternoon and evening concerts.

Some of the artists to be featured include The Dove Brothers Quartet, The Hoppers, The Kingdom Heirs, Brian Free & Assurance, Gold City, Greater Vision, Isaacs, Karen Peck & New River and more to be announced. The series will also feature behind-the-scenes footage to provide a personal look at the lives of the quartet members.

"Southern Gospel and quartet music is a distinctly American-bred genre of music and has an important place in Gospel Music Channel's programming mission. With the National Quartet Convention considered the 'Grand Daddy' of all the southern gospel music events, we thought it would provide special music and inspirational moments for an original new series" said Charles Humbard, founder and president of Gospel Music Channel.

"The National Quartet Convention appreciates the commitment that Gospel Music Channel has made to traditional, harmony oriented Gospel music by producing this original series from NQC. We are looking forward to the new series being aired on GMC, giving millions of fans and supporters the opportunity to see and hear this great music on a weekly basis," commented Clarke Beasley, executive vice president, NQC.
