WASHINGTON, May 5, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- During the 2012 Republican Primary, Cincinnati native David Lewis challenged Speaker of the House John Boehner for his fiscal and social policies; he called out Boehner regarding his support of entitlement policies and also his unwillingness to fight for the cause of unborn babies.

Mr. Boehner claimed to be pro-life yet refused to support any initiative to defund Planned Parenthood during his 23 years as a member of the House of Representatives. In order to remind voters of Boehner's complicity in this unspeakable crime against the most defenseless, Lewis ran graphic TV ads that showed images of aborted babies. Lewis' ads aired during local news programs and during the pre-game show of the Super Bowl.

Mr. Lewis states: "Mr. Winteregg believes in protecting the rights of unborn babies, protecting the second amendment, and believes in promoting the private sector. Although Mr. Boehner claims to believe in these same things, his public record shows his constant failure to act on these beliefs. John Boehner is a career politician that has lost touch with the conservative base that elected him. Voters in Ohio's 8th District are hungry for a representative that holds the same moral and economic values as them, that person is JD Winteregg.

"There is a crisis in our country right now. The government is intruding into American's lives and forcing socialism down our throats in the name of health care. JD Winteregg believes in the private sector and opposes enslaving our children to debt by raising the debt ceiling.

"Mr. Boehner is full of empty rhetoric and does not follow through on his promises. JD Winteregg cares so much for this country that he was willing to lose his job for his beliefs. JD Winteregg puts his money where his mouth is, something very foreign to Mr. Boehner. I am putting my money on JD Winteregg for Congress, and I call on Republicans throughout Ohio's 8th District to do the same. JD Winteregg can succeed in 2014 if the conservative base in the 8th District will rally around him."
