HAMPTON, Va., Nov. 10, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- International Cooperating Ministries (ICM), a nonprofit headquartered in Hampton, Va., whose mission is to nurture believers and assist Church growth worldwide, has reached the milestone of 5,000 churches built or under construction in developing nations through its partnerships with 187 indigenous ministries. Dois Rosser, founder of POMOCO, established ICM in 1986 at the age of 65. Janice Rosser Allen, daughter of the founder, is the current CEO and Executive Chair.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, staff and guests gathered around Rosser as he signed the application for ICM's 5000th church, located in India, where the ministry's work began years ago. This particular project is a house of worship for people previously thought to have no value as members of India's lowest caste.

To commemorate this event, "The Building of the 5,000: A Celebration of God's Miracles" was recently held at First Presbyterian Church in Hampton, led by Rev. Dr. Cynthia Rosser Higgins, Senior Pastor, featuring a message by Rev. Dean Woodward, Pastor of Grace Bible Church in Virginia Beach. Higgins is the daughter of ICM Founder Dois Rosser, and Woodward is the son of the late Pastor Dick Woodward, author of the Mini Bible College (MBC). MBC is a four-year Bible study translated into 32 languages that ICM uses to disciple believers in an estimated 52,500 small groups around the world.

"Our vision is to use any available method to share the Gospel, nurture believers and advance the Kingdom…nation by nation by nation. Just as Jesus told His disciples, He tells us today to 'go and tell them who I am.' The tools He has given ICM are being used to do precisely that. We are going into all the world as He opens doors, using the vehicle of His Church and His Word to tell them who He is. I stand in complete amazement at the greatness of God and the power which brings all of this into being. It can only be of God," says Rosser.

International Cooperating Ministries is a ministry of the Rosser Foundation, a public charity tax-exempt 501(c)(3), and is located at 1901 N. Armistead Avenue in Hampton.
