WOODSTICK, Ga., Feb. 26, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Veterans to Christ is a new veteran based ministry started by Iraq veterans Mike Davis and Mike Trammel. Partnering up with several other people including active duty Army chaplains, the two are starting out what is initially going to be a blog, which they hope will lead to an active ministry.
Every person working on the project is either an active duty or past serving veteran with at least one combat deployment (most with multiple deployments). In fact, one of the chaplains associated with the group is heading to Afghanistan in the next month. "We know war and the issues that veterans are facing every single day. We also know that God has given us an opportunity to find peace through salvation in Christ even in the face of experiences and memories of horrors that we left on battlefields all over the world," states Davis.
Phase 1 will include articles being posted 3 to 5 times a week that will hit on matters of faith, healing for veterans and guides to dealing with the struggles that vets face everyday. "We are excited to see how God uses this new ministry and we hope that we can do our part to help bring peace and comfort to lost and saved veterans alike," says Davis.
In addition to targeting veterans, they also hope to bring an understanding to the friends and families of those veterans of what their loved ones went through and are continuing to go through. The men truly believe that anyone who loves God and loves those who have sacrificed so much for this nation will get something out of their articles.
Their aim is to bring glory to God and veterans to Christ. It is these men's sincere hope that every veteran (and their family members) finds hope in what is provided on the website and that this new ministry can help in a small way of getting them to understand how much God loves them.
