Chicago Homosexual Group that Lobbied SPLC to Label AFTAH a 'Hate Group' 'Will Not Condemn' Brick-Throwing Attack on Christian School
CHICAGO, Oct. 24, 2011 /
Christian Newswire/ -- In an extraordinary display of anti-Christian hatred, the co-leader of the Gay Liberation Network – a Chicago-based, Marxist homosexual "direct action" group – said he "will not condemn" the recent
brick-throwing terrorist attack on an Illinois Christian school.
Early in the morning of Oct. 15, pro-homosexual activists threw two large paver bricks through the glass doors of the Christian Liberty Academy (CLA) in suburban Illinois – to protest CLA for hosting an
Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) fund-raising banquet. An accompanying note read: "This is just a sample of what we will do if you don't shut down [pro-family advocate] Scott Lively and AFTAH." A few hours later, a
threatening manifesto taking credit for the attack was posted on a left-wing Chicago website.
"[Gay Liberation Network] did not, and will not condemn the actions of persons who threw the pavers, assuming that they did so out of hatred of Lively, [AFTAH President Peter] LaBarbera, and the Christian Liberty Academy,"
wrote Bob Schwartz of the Gay Liberation Network, which organized a protest against AFTAH outside CLA the night of the event.
LaBarbera said: "Talk about Orwellian: the leftist 'gay' group that boasts of its role lobbying the SPLC to designate AFTAH as a 'hate group' now says it will NOT condemn hate-violence against a Christian school. It is obvious who the real hateful extremists are – and it's not pro-family organizations like AFTAH."
"Will the SPLC now label GLN a 'hate group'? Does it have any qualms about using hate-violence-condoning GLN as a 'source'?" LaBarbera asked.
Following is the verbatim text of
Schwartz's comment posted on the pro-homosexuality "Box Turtle Bulletin" website October 22nd:
We in GLN have said that the vandalism done to the Christian Liberty Academy may be the act of antigays, thus permitting the real enablers of violence and those who honor them to play the victim card. That would be Lively and LaBarbera, respectively.
However, we did not, and will not condemn the actions of persons who threw the pavers, assuming that they did so out of hatred of Lively, LaBarbera, and the
Christian Liberty Academy. This far-right organization has also hosted anti-immigrant extremists, some of whom are identified as hate groups by Southern Poverty Law Center, as are Lively's and LaBarbera's outfits. In addition, the Academy as well as Lively and LaBarbera have no problem with cheering on the global violence of US aggression and occupation.
We urge that attention be kept on the real haters and violence cheerleaders who enable and honor the execution of "serial homosexuals," and not on those who commit petty vandalism.
