SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 2, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Rev. Samuel Rodriguez and The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (www.nhclc.org), also known as the Hispanic Evangelical Association, the nation's largest Christian Hispanic organization, announced that the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) has formally become a senior partner of the NHCLC.
The American Association of Christian Counselors has over 50,000 active members and is the world's leading professional and pastoral counseling organization for professional Christian counselors, pastors, and church caregivers, offering Christ-centered individual, marriage and family resources and services for today's Christian leaders.
In a joint announcement, Dr. Tim Clinton, Ed.D., LPC, LMFT, President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, has been appointed to the NHCLC Board of Directors. He is also Professor of Counseling and Pastoral Care, Executive Director of the Center for Counseling and Family Studies at Liberty University and is recognized as a world leader in faith and mental health issues.
Dr. Clinton said, "Our partnership with the NHCLC, led by good friend and revolutionary Rev. Samuel Rodriquez, is one of the most exciting relationships the AACC has built in its 25 year history, and I believe will become a partnership that literally changes the face of Christ-centered counseling in cross-cultural settings across America."
The AACC will hold its Silver Anniversary "Celebrate Your Faith" World Conference in Nashville, TN September 28-October 1, 2011. Rev. Samuel Rodriguez will be one of the plenary speakers at the conference along with other top leaders as Gov. Mike Huckabee, Lee Strobel, Luis Palau, Josh McDowell, Wess Stafford and others. NHCLC will also be hosting a special reception and meeting at the AACC Conference for pastors and leaders in the Hispanic community in preparation for the official launch of the Hispanic Association of Christian Counselors a division of the AACC.
AACC is committed to assisting Christian counselors and the entire 'community of care,' licensed professionals, pastors, and caring church members with little or no formal training. It is their intention to equip clinical, pastoral, and lay care-givers with Biblical truth and psycho-social insights that ministers to hurting persons and helps them move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity.
Rev. Rodriguez, President of the NHCLC, said, "As an organization who supports over 34,000 churches in America, millions of Hispanic Evangelicals, and who is committed to strengthening families and protecting marriage we applaud the work of Dr. Tim Clinton and the AACC and are elated to have AACC as the Sponsor of The Hispanic NAE's Family Directive."
Dr. Clinton has authored 17 books including his latest, God Attachment: Why You Believe, Act, and Feel the Way You Do About God. Most importantly, he has been married 30 years to his wife Julie and together they have two children, Megan and Zach.
The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference is the Hispanic Evangelical Association unifying, serving and representing the Hispanic Born Again Community via 34,200 member churches and 20 million constituents by reconciling the vertical and horizontal of the Christian message through the 7 Directives of Life, Family, Great Commission, Stewardship, Justice, Education and Youth.
