Over 5,000 churches in the Washington DC area and 1000 churches from the St. Louis, MO area have been invited including the entire Congress and President Obama.
"If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land" - II Chronicles 7:14.
We're a nation in crisis! A church so divided! A people so disenchanted! The prayer meeting is being organized by the St. Louis County, MO - chapter of CRYOUT America – Awakening of which organization is dedicated to fasting and praying for America for spiritual revival. Billy Wilson is the CEO of the national organization. The objective of the prayer is that God will prick the hearts of our elected officials to stop party bickering, quest on personal agendas and ideologies, put aside individual differences, and work together for the good of the nation.
I strongly apologize to those who got upset because the prayer meeting was initially intended for the White House and it was moved to Hylton Memorial Chapel, Woodbridge, VA because of the scheduling conflicts incurred according to the White House scheduling office. To those who got angry because the prayer meeting was moved out of the White House, I strongly believe if Jonah can pray in the belly of a fish, and God heard and answered that prayer, God can hear our prayers from anywhere. What is more important is the urgency of a call to prayer for the nation. The continuous Wall Street demonstration spreading across the nation and the world is a reminder of the urgency of a call to prayer. May God's light shine on us from above.
