It is a Dark Day for the Rule of Law Because of the Supreme Court Decision on Obamacare

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, June 25, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Allan Parker, President of The Justice Foundation, stated today:

The Supreme Court's decision today in King v. Burwell, the Obamacare decision, ushers in a dark day for the Rule of Law in America.  When the plain language of a statute is not given its plain meaning, then there is no longer a rule of law.  We have become a nation ruled by "autocrats."  Congress passes a law that it doesn't read, the President enforces the parts he likes and ignores the parts he doesn't like.  The Supreme Court simply says in effect: "They can do whatever they want to do."

Further, when words have no meaning, then laws have no meaning.  Citizens cannot rely on the law to plan their future actions so economic stagnation and corruption become rampant in society.

The Justice Foundation did not represent any party in this case nor did it file an Amicus Brief. Therefore it is neutral and independent.  The Justice Foundation does seek to preserve the Rule of Law and the essential freedoms and liberties necessary to the preservation of American society as the founders intended.

Mr. Allan E. Parker, Jr. is a former professor of law licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court.  The Justice Foundation frequently files briefs and has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of its clients in the past.
