WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 28, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- A team of young Christian writers & producers are collaborating with experienced Hollywood talent to create an animated feature-length action film with a Christian message. The film, titled "Heaven | The First War," portrays the biblical story of the first war in heaven, the fall of Lucifer, the battle between forces of good and evil, and the impact of sin's origin on the human race.

"I'd never seen anyone tackle the story of how the relationships in heaven were originally broken through Lucifer's actions, especially not using animation," says Delroy Brown, screenwriter and executive producer. "The film's message is that God is loving, He's just, and He is merciful."

"Showing what happened in the spiritual realm before God created man is something people don't often think about. We assume everything starts in the Garden of Eden, but it really began much earlier," says Larry Kenton, arranger and conductor, who has worked on music for blockbusters such as Ratatouille, Mission Impossible, Star Trek, Day After Tomorrow, Skyrim, and the award-winning score for UP!

Ultimately seeking investors for a 40 million dollar production budget, the team has turned to Kickstarter.com hoping to raise an early production budget of $300,000 by December 29, 2014. Kickstarter helps creative projects generate funding by large numbers of donors giving smaller amounts. Supporters receive incentives related to the film, and pledges are only fulfilled if the entire funding goal is reached.

The core team is currently volunteering their time, and are actively seeking and praying for the resources to move forward with full production. An impressive lineup of Hollywood talent has already signed on to work with the project once funding is available, bringing credits such as "Fox & The Hound," "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs," "The Chronicles of Narnia," "Frozen," "Planes," "Wreck-It Ralph," "Monsters Inc," and "UP!".

"It's not only a great script, but it's an incredible story that needs to be told," says Ned Lott, casting director, whose film credits include "The Chronicles of Narnia." "Our world is in chaos and people are looking for answers. It's the right time for this story."

"Heaven | The First War" is planned for release in 2017.
