WASHINGTON, Dec. 5, 2010 /
Christian Newswire/ -- A major prayer vigil and pro-life witness is planned for late-term abortion provider LeRoy Carhart's first day of business in Germantown, Maryland.
Pro-life activists, local clergy and the faith community will gather in large numbers to affirm human rights for all and speak out against violence and the barbaric practice of late-term abortion.
The demonstration and prayer vigil will begin on Monday, December 6, at 11:00 A.M. at the Reproductive Health Services abortion clinic.
The clinic is located at 13233 Executive Park Terrace in Germantown, Maryland.
The group will also hold a news conference at 11:30 A.M. to discuss an ongoing public campaign at the clinic for as long as LeRoy Carhart is brutalizing women and killing innocent viable children.
The message for the campaign is clear: "We will embrace justice, mercy and life and not allow Maryland to become the late-term abortion capitol of America."
One of the lead organizers, Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of Washington, D.C. based Christian Defense Coalition, states:
"We are gathering on Monday to be a loud and prophetic witness for the dignity of life and human rights. We want to make it abundantly clear that we will prayerfully work to ensure that Maryland does become the late-term abortion capital of America.
"We also want to send a clear message to LeRoy Carhart that we will never be silent while women are being brutalized and innocent viable children are being killed. We will pray, march, rally and be a prophetic voice until the violence stops.
"To the other tenants in the business park we simply say; we will be a constant public presence and witness for life as we embrace justice for all. LeRoy Carhart's business home has now become our home."
