SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., May 23, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- The 50th Anniversary Convention of Worldwide Marriage Encounter this June, in addition to the onsite event in Lombard, IL, will also offer live streaming pay per view participation at a cost of $25 per sacrament, it was announced today by Peter & Sheila Oprysko and Fr. Tom Griffith, SVD, the convention ecclesial chair/team.
"Through this 21st Century method of communication, we will be able to live stream the entire three-day convention, which starts June 22, to the entire world. The $25 pay per view cost covers the entire conference and those who register for the pay per view will also be able to login after the event and experience the convention repeatedly via video recordings," the convention leadership team explained.
Registration for the livestream program starts today by going to wwme-2018-convention.myshopify.com/. The $25 registration fee per sacrament will be used to defray the cost of offering the livestream event worldwide.
The convention chair team also suggested that local WWME groups could come together to participate in the live streaming event throughout the course of the WWME convention weekend. The live streaming of the convention will be bi-directional, allowing viewers to communicate with those at the convention. The pay per view livestream participants, each sacrament, can also purchase convention items via the online convention store. There is now a special offer of $10 off any purchases of $40 or more.
In addition to the pay per view livestream offering there is still some availability for the onsite convention live stream program. The cost of the on-site live stream event is $150. A separate room from the main convention location, which can host 300 people, has been created for those who wish to attend the convention via live steam, but at the actual convention location.
"As we have previously mentioned we are also trying to assist others who were not able to sign up for the sold-out convention by creating a special onsite convention website/livestream area. Those that participate in this live stream will be able to attend the entire convention remotely. Live stream participants will also be able to witness Priest Day, which is always held on Friday during daytime hours," the convention leadership added. The 50th Anniversary WWME Convention will be held in Lombard, IL from June 22 to 24th.
Through the use of 21st Century technology, this truly could be the largest WWME convention ever held in the past 50 years.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter has been offering weekend experiences for over 50 years and is considered the original faith-based marriage enrichment program. The programs are continually updated to keep abreast of changes in society, and WWME now offers evening and half-day programs that are presented at parishes and other church facilities. The weekend program, traditionally presented as an overnight experience at a hotel or retreat center, can also be presented at the parish where the couples return to their homes in the evenings. WWME has a presence in almost 100 countries, which makes it the largest pro-marriage movement in the world. In North America, the WWME programs are presented in English, Spanish, French, and Korean languages.
Worldwide Marriage Encounter offers married couples the opportunity to spend time together away from the busyness of the world to focus on each other. Priests are also encouraged to attend a WWME weekend, which offers insights into their relationship with the church and their parishioners, and how their Sacrament of Holy Orders interacts with the Sacrament of Matrimony. WWME offers tools for building and maintaining a strong, Christian marriage in today's world.
