BATON ROUGE, Jan. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Spiritual and political leaders from Louisiana and around the nation will gather to honor the new Governor and his First Lady on January 21, 2008. The event will feature a formal Jeffersonian Tea and is similar to other inaugural teas which have been held in Washington, DC to commemorate presidential inaugurations.

Confirmed speakers for the God and country event include: Dr. Alan Keyes of Renew America, former U.S. Navy Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt and Judge Darrell White of the Louisiana Family Forum and Retired Judges of America. Music will be provided by the Greater New Orleans Suzuki Forum. Governor and Mrs. Jindal have been invited to attend.
The theme of the tea is the "Louisiana Purchase," reflecting on the spiritual heritage of Louisiana. The Tea event which falls on the Martin Luther King holiday and our National Inauguration Day is open to the public. There is a suggested donation of $30.00.
