BOSTON, Mass., Sept. 24 /Christian Newswire/ -- The huge turnout of people for Boston Night of Worship 2009 confirms something that many people have suspected -- God is doing a new thing in Boston, Massachusetts, the birthplace of the First Great Awakening in the United States and an area that modern-day prophets declare as strategic for the highly anticipated 21st century Great Awakening.

The attendance tripled for the September 19th event, compared to last year's event. More than 2,000 worshippers came out to unite in worship on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Even when every seat in the 1,200-seat Kresge Auditorium was taken, large groups of people broke out in praise and worship among themselves in the lobby, reflecting the strong atmosphere of pure worship cultivated on the grounds of this leading secular university.

"People are so hungry for the Lord Jesus in New England," said Zenzo Geoffrey, director of the Boston Night of Worship. "They are increasingly learning that the key that opens the door to reshaping culture and changing a city in profoundly positive ways is true unity in worship. That is what we experienced together at this year's Boston Night of Worship, and it's opening more people's eyes."
