MUNCIE, Ind., Aug. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- The author, Langston Hughes, asked, "What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?" In the case of Angelia White, the answer is a resounding NO! What should have marked the end of a dream has become a source of inspiration and hope for all women. White's dream, a Christian lifestyle magazine entitled HOPE for Women, debuted nationally in Barnes and Noble, Borders, Hastings and Mardel around the country in the spring of 2007.

Her Story

As a child, Angelia White's dream was to publish a magazine. Her dreams were shattered, however, when she became a victim of childhood molestation. White then turned to her mother, whose strength gave Angelia hope and purpose, and she was able to heal. In 2005, after losing both her father and grandmother, she decided it was time to awaken her dream to publish a magazine. When Angelia mentioned this idea to her former supervisor, she turned and remarked, "You! What do you know about publishing a magazine?" This prompted White, who had no formal publishing experience, to surround herself with a great mentor and the best staff possible, recruiting top talent from across the country to help with her endeavor.

About the Magazine

Her dream and hope are no longer deferred. Angelia White has made HOPE for Women a reality. HOPE is a magazine that speaks gently but boldly testifies that a woman's faith in God is her bedrock for embracing life and living it fully. It gives a real voice to the way women live through struggles and victories, tragedies and triumphs, and fears and faith. HFW is like a conversation with a good friend that leaves you feeling refreshed through tears of joy, laughter, and reflection. HOPE for Women avoids a preachy tone; instead, it gently weaves biblical approaches into a variety of topics, including work/finances, marriage/single living, fashion/beauty, home essentials, entertainment, and more. It is truly a message of…HOPE.
