SAN FRANCISCO, July 26, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Founded in 1941, Young Life -- www.YoungLife.org -- has had a longstanding history of using creative methods to get teens excited about developing a personal relationship with God. This summer the Young Life Capernaum Program (Ministry for Teens and Young Adults with Disabilities) continues this mission by teaming up with The Almighty Bible to give out cutting edge graphic novels that come right out of the most amazing books of the Bible. Mark, Genesis and Exodus are being used this summer.

Campers began to receive The Almighty Bible books in July and the feedback from the Young Life staff and campers has been incredible! When asked why the books have struck such a chord with the campers, one of the leaders, Chad, had this to say. "I think a lot of times when reading the Bible, it's easy to miss the emotion and intensity of the people in it. When reading through The Almighty Bible this was something that was presented very clearly. I've found that to be helpful with typical kids, kids with disabilities, and even for my own use."

The team behind The Almighty Bible shares the desire to minister to kids and teens by bringing the Bible to life for a new generation. This is being done through the release of graphic novels, apps and an online club -- www.AlmightyBibleClub.com. Project co-founder Dong Chung says, "We are absolutely thrilled to be able to have our resources used by such a powerful organization that has a passion to minister to young people around the world, which is why we donated almost half as many books as they bought."

Young Life believes that all young people have the right to experience life as God intended it--life lived to the fullest. This includes meaningful relationships, fun, laughter, adventure and acceptance. Nick Palermo, who founded the Capernaum Project in 1986 in San Jose, joined with Young Life to make it their first outreach program for kids with physical and mental disabilities. Young Life Capernaum has since established 167 ministries in the U.S. and abroad. Capernaum staff members and volunteer leaders model God's unconditional love and acceptance at weekly club meetings and special events--helping young people with disabilities discover their ability to do new things and to be all God designed them to be.

The Almighty Bible series is geared towards children ages 9-13. They currently have the books of Genesis, Exodus, Mark, I Samuel, II Samuel and Acts available in graphic novel format. Each book contains around 160 pages of visually captivating images along with condensed text that is verse accurate. The Gospel of Luke and Revelation will be the next two titles released in graphic novel format. There is also an online club available at -- www.AlmightyBibleClub.com -- here you will have access to digital versions of all currently released books (Includes Animations, Narration, Music, Quizzes and More), Prayer Garden (Watch Your Prayers Grow, Maintain a Prayer Journal and Share Prayers with Friends and Family), The Mission (A Strategic Game Following The Apostle Paul in 63 A.D.), Games and Much More.
