PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 16, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- A summary of Philly Alive's message is Mercy, Gosnell and De-Fund.
- A plea for Mercy on expectant mothers and their children
- Planned Parenthood kills newborn children, as did Kermit Gosnell
- A call for Pope Francis to ask Congress to de-fund Planned Parenthood
Philly Alive is a coalition of local, regional and national pro-life and religious organizations formed to appeal for mercy on children in the womb and their mothers during the World Meeting of Families (WMF) and Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia. "Protest Planned Parenthood" is a national movement launched in the wake of the undercover exposé of Planned Parenthood's delivering of babies alive, dissecting them and selling their body parts.

The WMF proclaims "Love is our mission, the family fully alive." Philly Alive has the following goals:
- To expose PP as the leading opponent of this mission, as Planned Parenthood commits approximately 350 abortions each week in the Philadelphia Archdiocese.
- To call for Acts of Mercy for expectant mothers and their children during the WMF and to save as many as possible from abortion.
- To identify "pro-life Republican" legislators as being primarily responsible for any continuation of government funding of Planned Parenthood.
Philly Alive's Local Director, Mike McMonagle, stated, "These undercover videos reveal that Planned Parenthood regularly commits the same crimes of killing newborn children as did Philadelphia's Kermit Gosnell."
Philly Alive's National Director, Rev. Patrick Mahoney, requested Pope Francis, in his remarks at Independence Hall and before the U.S. Congress, "call for protecting the right to life of children in the womb and the elimination of funding for Planned Parenthood."
