Christian Newswire/ -- Bible expert, author, radio host and TV producer Steve Wohlberg refutes ‘politically correct’ opinions declaring that Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Al-Qaida terrorists “have nothing to do with Islam” but are “a perversion of Islam” (Associated Press, Sept. 20, 2001, remarks made by President Bush before a joint session of Congress shortly after Sept. 11). “This is not true,” says Wohlberg, “Muslim terrorists are actually following the Koran, which commands Allah’s loyal followers to ‘fight those of the unbelievers’ (Quran, Surah IX: 123, Shakir’s translation, New York) until Islam ‘prevails over all religions’ (Surah IX: 33).”
Thursday’s Al-Jazeera TV broadcast of the message of Ayman al-Zawahri, second in command to Osama bin Laden, supports Wohlberg’s contention. Rejecting all “cease-fires or agreements,” al-Zawahri declared, “It is a Jihad (holy war) for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails ...We will attack everywhere...” (AP, July 27, Al-Qaida calls for Holy War against Israel). Al-Zawahri appealed to Muslims worldwide to stand against what is “forbidden by God in his book (the Quran).”
CIA Director George Tennet testified before Congress February 24, 2004 that Hezbollah has an extensive network of operatives on American soil and an “ongoing capability to launch terrorist attacks within the US.” In light of the current conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, and al-Zawahri’s appeal for Muslims worldwide to wage war “everywhere,” these threats should be taken seriously.
Conflicting apocalyptic theories abound, yet Steve Wohlberg has become a recognized expert on what the Book of Revelation teaches about ‘the end of days.’ His book, End Time Delusions: The Rapture, the Antichrist, Israel, and the End of the World (Destiny Image, 2004) separates fact from fiction about the past, the present, and the future. Based on years of research into biblical prophecies combined with an intelligent eye on world events, Wohlberg believes “Armageddon” is pending, “the battle of the great day of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:14, 16).
