MEDIA ADVISORY, Aug. 26 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fed up with a year's worth of distortions, lies, and propaganda perpetuated by so-called conservative elites across the country, a group of committed conservatives have come together in an all-out effort to save the movement from passing Ronald Reagan's torch to the illegitimate standard-bearer Mitt Romney.
The former Massachusetts governor's record is anything but conservative, says best-selling author and national speaker Gregg Jackson, who helped to forge the coalition of consistent conservatives dismayed that Romney was getting a free pass for his left-wing record.
"Romney was easily the most left-wing Republican presidential candidate of my lifetime," said Jackson, author of Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies and a former talk show host on WRKO in Boston, where he chronicled Romney's numerous conservative sellouts first-hand. "It's time for the cover-up on his behalf to be exposed and for conservatives across the country to know the truth before it becomes too late."
That's why the group known as Conservatives for Truth created the website www.rushtellthetruth.blogspot.com. They want America's #1 conservative talk radio host, Rush Limbaugh, to quit promoting Romney and instead tell the truth about his record.
"Everything on our website is fully sourced, cited, and foot-noted," Jackson said. "It's irrefutable, as are the numerous conservative leaders and thinkers cited on our website who have previously noted Romney was a pure wolf in sheep's clothing. Romney is a liberal across the board, from $50 abortions, to mandated government healthcare that is a disaster, to raising taxes and fees, to illegally instituting homosexual marriage in Massachusetts – Romney accomplished what Barney Frank and Teddy Kennedy could only fantasize about.
"Is that a record of a true conservative according to the principles Mr. Limbaugh has been valiantly fighting for over the last 20 years? We'd like to know, so we're asking him point blank."
One of Jackson's partners in this initiative, talk show host Steve Deace of powerhouse flame-thrower 1040-WHO in Des Moines, the radio station that began Ronald Reagan's career, says the bottom line is credibility for conservatives.
"I had a front-row seat to history during the Iowa Caucuses and saw first hand the bait and switch Romney tried pulling on voters but it didn't work once the truth came out," Deace said. "Despite all the propaganda Romney's money purchased and his cronies in the establishment gave him for free, the voters in the early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina – the places where the candidates spent the most face time with the people – all rejected him. That tells me the establishment is out of touch with the grass-roots.
"This is why I promised our audience that I will quit my job if I've been lying about Romney this past year. The last thing conservatives need are more people lying about who they really are, beginning with me."
