WASHINGTON, Nov. 28, 2022 /Christian Newswire/ -- Human and women's rights activists will peacefully protest and risk arrest in front of the White House calling for the Biden Administration to stand for freedom and regime change in Iran.
The activists will be standing in solidarity with hundreds of Iranian protesters who have been killed, and the thousands who have been arrested in their stand for freedom during the 2022 Iranian revolution.
The protest and news conference will take place on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 12:00 PM in front of the White House on the Pennsylvania Ave. NW public sidewalk.
The event is being organized by Stanton Public Policy Center/Purple Sash Revolution which is an international women's advocacy and educational organization that works on issues of human rights and justice which empower and inspire women worldwide.
Organizers are deeply troubled that the Biden Administration has not shared a more public voice in standing with protesters and calling for regime change and human rights in Iran. Stanton Public Policy Center/Purple Sash Revolution is also calling on this Administration to not pursue any nuclear talks with Iran while innocent freedom protesters are being murdered by security forces and imprisoned.
Saghar Erica Kasraie, Iranian American Human Rights Activist, states:
"One day the world will tell the story of the bravery of Iranian women who stood up for their rights and answered hate with dance. Women who became the leaders of a movement that aimed to stop more than four decades of injustice.
"One day the world will tell the story of a nation that was raised from ashes! We must make sure Masha Amini did not die in vain. President Biden, stand with the people of Iran."
Brandi Swindell, Founder and CEO of Stanton Public Policy Center/Purple Sash Revolution, states:
"We will be gathering to stand in solidarity with the heroic women of Iran, as they take to the streets of their own country, crying out for human rights, equality, freedom and regime change!
"Stanton Public Policy Center will also be calling for the Biden Administration to support the people of Iran and call upon the Iranian government to stop killing innocent demonstrators and ensure human rights for all.
"We are asking President Biden to call for regime change in a nation that has experienced decades of oppression and tyranny. America and the free nations of the world cannot be silent in the face of this historic revolution for freedom and equality."
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Chief Strategy Officer for Stanton Public Policy Center/Purple Sash Revolution, comments;
"The Biden Administration must realize this is a historic moment for those crying for freedom in Iran and for the entire global community. It is deeply troubling President Biden has not fully engaged on this issue and his Administration has remained passive while young Iranian protesters are being slaughtered in the streets by security forces, and being imprisoned.
"We call for the Biden Administration to publicly call for regime change and use every resource and tool available to the United States to peacefully help the Iranian people to live in a nation of freedom, justice and human rights.
"To the Biden Administration, we share the powerful words of Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace laureate, Elie Wisel. '"We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."
