TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 23, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Citizens for Protecting Taxpayers and Parental Rights announced today several new endorsements for Amendment 6 representing a cross-section of Floridians.

Supporters include Former Fl. Governor Jeb Bush, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, Speaker Designate Will Weatherford, FL. Senator Anitere Flores, Fl. Representatives Dennis Baxley and Rachel Burgin, Fl., CFO Jeff Atwater, Florida Farm Bureau, Florida Baptist Convention, Florida Family Action, Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops, Catholic Association of Latino Leaders, Catholics Called 2 Witness, Florida Right to Life, Florida Council of Catholic Women, Faith and Freedom Coalition, Christian Family Coalition and United Christians of Florida.

"These supporters understand that it's just common sense that Florida taxpayers shouldn't be forced to pay the bill for anyone's voluntary abortion, a position on which 72% of the public already says 'yes.' Furthermore, these endorsers recognize that Amendment 6 sets the stage for future legislation to restore a parent's right to be involved in their school-aged daughter's decision on abortion," said Yes on 6 Campaign Manager Jim Frankowiak.

Frankowiak noted the list of opponents include the usual suspects who want no limits on abortion -- even when legislation will strengthen a parent's role. Opponents include Planned Parenthood affiliates from across the country, The National Organization for Women, the ACLU of Florida, Faith Voices Against Amendment 6, made up of left-leaning Unitarian, Jewish and Methodist clergy in Florida and Sandra Fluke.
