Judicial Watch Sues DOJ for Andrew Weissmann Text Messages Regarding Trump, Clinton
WASHINGTON, June 19, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit asking the court to compel the Department of Justice produce "all text messages to or from DOJ official Andrew Weissmann" regarding President Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-01356)). Weissmann is a senior deputy for Special Counsel Robert Mueller and a former chief of the Justice Department criminal fraud division.
Judicial Watch filed suit in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia after the DOJ failed to respond to a December 15, 2017, FOIA request seeking:
