pureHOPE Announces 2015 Anti-Trafficking Internship, Raising Up Advocates to Lead Their Generation in Pursuing Justice
Contact: Michelle Ashley, pureHOPE, 513-349-1955

DALLAS, Feb. 18, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- pureHOPE is accepting applications for its annual summer internship designed to train a team of emerging leaders who are passionate about opposing the great evil of our day – sex trafficking. As many as 300,000 children in America are victims of sex trafficking each year. pureHOPE welcomes applications from Christian students from all educational focuses who would like to spend a summer understanding the connections between trafficking, porn, the sexualized culture, and what it means to pursue a lifestyle of justice.

"It is recognized that Christians are at the forefront of the anti-trafficking movement," explains Noel Bouché, president of pureHOPE. "Our vision is for the church to become a city on a hill, shining justice and mercy into the darkness of exploitation. The internship is key to achieving that vision."

The seven-week internship is located in Dallas, Texas and spans June 15 to July 31, 2015, focusing on Outreach, Professional Development and Spiritual Formation. The internship raises up advocates who are equipped to lead their generation in pursuing holiness and opposing commercial sexual exploitation by modeling lives of everyday justice.

In an atmosphere of prayer and fellowship, interns will learn about the global sex trade, laws and policies, and the basics of rescue and aftercare. They will also gain experience in research, writing, public speaking, and movement building, as well as have the opportunity to network with experts and activists from across the country. Most importantly, they will grow in their intimacy with God through Bible study, prayer, worship, and mentoring.

"The responsibility you're given is much greater than in most other internships," explains Craig, an intern from Texas A&M in 2009. "The experience equipped me to pursue love, purity and justice in my profession."

William from Pittsburg State University was part of the internship in 2010. He explains, "It was a life-changing experience. The Justice internship was the best job I've ever had. It's more than an internship, it's a lifestyle."

Candidates must be between 18 to 23 years of age and enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Applicants need to submit a cover letter, statement of faith, resume and two recommendation letters to justice@purehope.net by March 31, 2015. These submissions should include information that describes your passion for the anti-trafficking movement, relevant skills and how you believe this internship will advance your personal and professional goals.
