MEDIA ADVISORY, Nov. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Ohio Christian Alliance has submitted a letter to Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann, expressing our disappointment and alarm to his comment in official correspondence with his communications director, in which he compared a bad press day to the crucifixion of Christ. The email that was made public is dated April 6, 2007 – Good Friday of this year.
Chris Long, President of Ohio Christian Alliance, made the following statement, "We are outraged that you, the Attorney General of the State of Ohio, would make a bigoted, disparaging remark in reference to Jesus Christ in an official communiqué…My fellow citizens and I are shocked and appalled that you, as an elected official, would make such a remark in regard to Jesus Christ, our Saviour and the leader of the Christian faith on one of the most holy days of the Christian calendar. That such an intolerant comment would be made by Ohio's Attorney General, whose duty it is to defend the rights of all Ohioans, only adds to our distress."
The Ohio Christian Alliance has requested an apology from Attorney General Marc Dann, and a guarantee that people of faith will not be subjected to bigoted remarks by him in the future. It is our hope that the Attorney General will take the appropriate action to address the concerns of Christians across the State of Ohio that have been offended by his comments.
