GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Oct. 8, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Audiences around the world tuned in to the new "Hour of Power with Bobby Schuller" (www.hourofpower.org) last Sunday, as interest in the program ran high across numerous media platforms.

Photo: Henk Stoorvogel (right), founder and creator of the 4th Musketeer, along with his friend Kent Susad (left) share with Bobby how they've worked to create an ultimate adventure for men. Started in 2008, the 4th Musketeer is 3-day event where men are challenged with significant physical challenges in the wild through Xtreme Character Challenges, creating within them a deep spiritual experience.

Viewers watching the new program in nearly 20 countries and online made their presence known through increased website traffic and social media impressions.

"Just had the chance to watch the new format and was absolutely BLESSED and blown away by it! Cannot wait for future programs!" one commenter said on Facebook.  "I am a huge fan of the 'Hour of Power.'  It has brought me through some really tough times. Bobby's sermons are terrific, and the interviews are great. I am your biggest fan, and I am looking forward to seeing what God will do through the New HOP!" said another.

The new program retains its popular sacred music and sermon, while incorporating new segments, including special guests interviewed on location and popular music performers. The program is produced by Baas Creative, the film company that created the innovative "Nooma" videos, which present Jesus in compelling ways.

"It was great to be on the air with the newly launched program," said Schuller. "It's clear from the overwhelming responses we have received that the message of Jesus' love and redemption still deeply resonates with people across the world. I can't wait to see how God is going to use this coming week to reach people for him."

On the next program, Schuller will continue his message series on the vision of "Hour of Power" and Shepherd's Grove church with a message titled, "Growing in Jesus' School."  The program is slated to include Henk Stoorvogel, founder and creator of 4th Musketeer (www.the4thmusketeer.com), and a performance by the "Hour of Power" Chamber Players.

Stoorvogel is the founder and creator of the three-day ultimate adventure for men that uses significant physical challenges to help men develop character. The "Hour of Power" Chamber Players will perform "Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit."

The ministry, founded by Schuller's grandfather, began as the Garden Grove Community Church at the Orange Drive-in Theatre in 1955, soon adding a 300-seat chapel four miles away. It later expanded to the larger campus. As the ministry grew, in 1970 the "Hour of Power" television program launched and aired in all 50 states by 1975. The program eventually became the most-watched religious program in the world, reaching 17 million viewers.

Schuller, 33, graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2003 and received his Master's of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2008. He founded the Tree of Life Community in Garden Grove, Calif., in 2008, and is a commissioned pastor of the Reformed Church in America.

Schuller is also president of the St. Patrick Project (www.bobbyschuller.com), a social services outreach in Orange. He is author of the book "Imagine Happiness."
