OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 16, 2020 /Christian Newswire/ -- Veteran Catholic writer John Mallon has launched a website covering his 35 years of writing about, defending and explaining the Catholic faith. Mallon's career was jump-started while he was a theology major at Boston College. There he frequently wrote articles in the student papers in the 1980s responding to attacks on the faith, thus flying in the face of the "political correctness" on campus. He and a friend took over the conservative campus paper the Observer of Boston College, changing it into an orthodox Catholic paper on that Jesuit campus. This brought him to the attention of officials at Franciscan University of Steubenville who offered him a scholarship to earn his master's degree in theology.

After earning his degree he was hired by Archbishop Eusebius Beltran to be his spokesman, communications director and newspaper editor for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. On his watch the Sooner Catholic won 11 journalism awards in three years from the Catholic Press Association. Then he joined Inside the Vatican magazine as contributing editor and columnist. He also served as Communications Director for Human Life International.

Mallon spent the spring of 2020 building the website. His initial article for the website was "Welcome to World War III," about his reaction to the frightening aspects of the corona virus.

Now retired, Mallon said about the new website "I wanted my work to outlive me in a single resource. Some of the articles may seem dated at first glance but they provide a snapshot for a given period of Church history. But," Mallon said, "the truths of the faith expressed in those articles are timeless." Mallon frequently explained the "hot button" issues of Church teachings. In this, they indeed remain timeless.

Apart from the articles, Mallon has created the johnmallon.LIFE "bookstore" featuring great Catholic books where visitors may purchase books from Amazon.com through the website through Amazon's Associate program. This will help defray the costs of maintaining the site while not costing any more than the Amazon price.

The site address is https://johnmallon.LIFE. Mallon was unsure whether he was going to replace his previous site until he browsed available domain names and saw that ".LIFE" was available. After all his pro-life work, he laughed, "I took it as a sign that I should rebuild and launch the site!"
