HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- Prison minister and author Marty Angelo is scheduled to speak at the 60th year celebration dinner for Wichita Kansas Union Rescue Mission on Friday November 5 at 6:15PM. The event is focused on raising money to supply services to the homeless and needy.
"I am honored to be this year's speaker and look forward to sharing my life story that I hope will motivate the invited guests to continue to give to such a worthy cause," Angelo remarked in a telephone interview. "We are instructed by Jesus Christ in the Sermon on the Mount to feed the hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit those in prison and most of all.... to love Him and our neighbor," Angelo continued. "What better way of accomplishing these commands than through the support of local rescue missions?" To purchase tickets please call 316-687-4673 or email julie@urmwichita.org.
Angelo is also scheduled to speak at Ellsworth Correctional Facility, El Dorado Correctional Facility and Winfield Correctional Facility. "When I am invited to speak at a social event I also try to use my time wisely by reaching out to jail and prison inmates," Angelo stated. "It was over 30 years ago when I faced a life in prison and looking back on that time I know God was guiding me into finding His true plan and purpose for my life. I pray He will do the same for the inmates I speak to at these Kansas prisons."
