BUFFALO, NY, Feb. 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- Just nine hours after the tragic accident that took the lives of 50 people on flight #3407, Christian recording artist Johnny Juarez was leaving Buffalo, N.Y. bound to Newark, N.J. on Continental flight # 3404.
"You could feel an intense atmosphere with the people on the plane as the winds made the flight very bumpy, plus I believe the image of the accident was still very fresh in all of our minds" said Juarez about the take-off and landing, of the small plane operated by Continental's connection flight partner, Colgan Air which flies daily from Buffalo to Newark.
The Canadian singer-songwriter who now calls Hamburg (a suburb of Buffalo) his home for the past two years, initially moved to the area because of Buffalo-Niagara Airport, as it allows him to easily tour within Canada and the US. Juarez was en-route to sing at "Nevaeh" a weekend youth conference at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Manassas, VA.
"During the flight and weekend I was praying for the families of the victims and just reflecting how precious life is. I had the opportunity to witness and share Jesus with the person flying next to me. I think during these difficult times the only answer we have is that God has everything under control and the only thing we can do is unite, pray and shine Jesus' love with each other" explained Juarez with a sigh of relief now that he is back home with his family after a spirit-filled weekend where God was glorified through his music.
On his site www.johnnyjuarez.com, Juarez has dedicated one of his songs, "You Are There" to comfort and sow encouragement to the families and community affected by this tragic event.
