LAUREL, Md., May 12, 2014 /Christian Newswire
/ -- A group of Maryland filmmakers are producing a new Christian film about hypocrisy called Masquerade. The non-profit media ministry is seeking $15,000 using the popular Kickstarter.com funding platform. The short film's plot revolves around a family who finds that living out their faith with consistency is easier said than done. The Kickstarter campaign will run 30 days and the goal of $15,000 will need to be reached by the deadline in order to receive the pledged funds.
The filmmakers are part of a non-profit media ministry called Christian Walk Alive, or CWA for short. CWA's goal is to make full-length feature films that will be available for wide release. CWA is making this film following the release of their previous film, Homecoming, which was released in 2012 on DVD. The purpose of this new film is to promote the idea that to build genuine relationships, people need to be authentic, open and real. The secondary purpose of the short film is to help the ministry build its experience and improve the quality of their filmmaking in order to get to the level where larger audiences can experience and appreciate their films.
According to CWA president Larry Amon, "The box office success of recent films such as Noah and God's Not Dead, show there is a significant market for Christian films. However, there is a real need to make high-quality, enjoyable films that portray the Christian faith and Bible accurately."
If the $15,000 goal is reached, CWA will start filming in late summer or early fall in and around Maryland, from Baltimore to the Eastern Shore. They will be seeking local actors and volunteers to help make the project a success. The film will be approximately 25 minutes and will be made available online free for everyone to enjoy and experience. About Christian Walk Alive Inc.
