Alfie Evans is a 23 month old boy who has captured worldwide attention as his parents seek to have him flown to an Italian hospital for treatment regarding a rare neurological disorder. The British and European Courts have denied his parents requests.
After being taken off of life support on Monday evening, Alfie was only expected to live for a short time. He now has been alive over 39 hours without showing any visible signs of pain or suffering.
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition and an organizer in the campaign to save the life of Charlie Gard last summer, states;
"We are gathering together at the British Embassy to pray and stand in solidarity with Alfie Evans and his family. Our goal is to be a loud public voice that parents know what is best for their children more than government bureaucrats and courts and to remind the world that the disabled community deserves equal rights and protection.
"We cannot be silent when it comes to issues of human rights, social justice and supporting the rights and authority of families."
