GLENSIDE, Penn., April 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) is delighted to announce the recent appointment of Timothy S. Lane, M.Div., D.Min., as Executive Director. An inauguration ceremony to be presided over by Mr. John Fryling will be held on May 7th at Oreland Presbyterian Church in Oreland, PA, and will be followed by a reception at the CCEF facilities. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and will include a keynote address by former CCEF Executive Director Dr. John Bettler.

Tim Lane has served the last six years as a faculty member and counselor at CCEF, as well as a lecturer of practical theology at Westminster Theological Seminary. A graduate of the University of Georgia and Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia, he brings to the organization more than two decades of ministry experience, strong leadership skills and a keen insight into human relationships.

"This is an exciting time at CCEF," said Tim. CCEF leads a counseling movement that teaches people how to explore the rich wisdom of Scripture and apply it to the complexities of human life by providing quality counseling services, academic training, church support and publications. "The Lord has used this ministry to impact people's lives in dramatic ways for his kingdom, and I really look forward to serving as Executive Director," he added.

In addition to his duties at CCEF, Tim travels frequently, meeting with church leadership and speaking to congregations on marriage, relationships and growth in grace. He is also the author of Conflict and Forgiving Others and the co-author of How People Change and the newly released Relationships: A Mess Worth Making--books all published by New Growth Press. Additionally, Tim has co-authored two church leadership training courses and written numerous articles for the Journal of Biblical Counseling.

With his appointment as Executive Director, Tim takes seriously CCEF's mission to see hearts transformed as God's Word is applied to the problems of life. "My commitment is to help CCEF flourish even more as we train students, equip churches, serve counselees and publish materials," Tim explained. "Ultimately, we want to help the local church be a place where Christ-centered change is the norm rather than the exception."

"Tim Lane is the right person to lead CCEF in the next generation. His vision, energy, intelligence and superb relational abilities will bring CCEF's already considerable influence to the next level." --Tremper Longman III, Robert H. Gundry Professor of Biblical Studies
