PORTLAND, Oregon, Sept. 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- One of the best known composers of music for prayer and worship, Dan Schutte counts "Here I Am, Lord," "City of God" and "Sing a New Song" among his celebrated works from years of collaboration with the St. Louis Jesuits. A new anthology from OCP, Table of Plenty, presents 15 tracks Schutte published as a solo artist from 1985 to 2000.

The second in Dan's Anthology series, Table of Plenty gathers his most popular songs from 1985 to 2000. While Here I Am, Lord covered his St. Louis Jesuits period, from 1970 to 1985, this new disc showcases the following 15 years, during which Dan explored and expanded his gifts as a solo composer. These more recent pieces still exhibit his enduring ability to reach into people's hearts and draw them into prayer.

"It's a great honor to have this second anthology collection released by OCP," says Schutte. "These 15 songs represent the first music I wrote following my earlier collaboration with the St. Louis Jesuits. They've found a home in the prayer and worship of many communities. It's such a privilege to be the instrument of music that has come to mean so much in the hearts of people of faith."

All 15 tracks are more than familiar. The now-classic title track, "Join in the Dance," "River of Glory," "Holy Darkness" -- these are well-known worship songs included in many missals and hymnals. They are together here on one CD for the first time.

"We attach graced memories to Dan Schutte's songs: First Communion, Confirmation, youth ministry, weddings, RCIA," says Ken Canedo, youth ministry advisor for Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Beaverton, Ore. "An audience walks home from his concerts with new memories as the People of God united in song."
