ORLANDO, April 3, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- In his documentary 'The Story of Everything' Stephen Hawking's revealed how the Earth formed from a formless cloud of dust and debris, in the same fashion as Moses described in Genesis.
Before modern astronomy no one really knew how planets formed, and since Moses's time, the statement he made at Genesis 1:2 'the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface,' has been a mystery to Bible scholars and scientist alike, until now.
According to discoveries made by NASA on proto-planetary disc, planets form in total darkness from a formless cloud of dust, as documented in Hawking's video.
This data corresponds exactly with Moses's description of the earth being formless, and in darkness at some stage in its early development. These discoveries solve a number of long time Bible creation account mysteries, says author Paul Hutchins.
According to Hutchins; "when you view Hawking's video simulating this planet forming process, along with the supporting data from NASA, and compare it to Moses's brief description of Earth's formation, the Bible's description of planet formation is amazingly accurate in view of the fact that the Hebrew word translated 'day' (yom) can mean various lengths of time, not just a 24 hour period."
This data indicates that the six creative days (that commenced after the earth formed) were six creative phases of unspecified lengths, where light from the sun, emerged gradually, to create the conditions that would lead to intelligent human life.
The statement at Genesis 1:3 "Let there be light" on day one, corresponds to when our sun came to life as it transitioned from a protostar to a main sequence star as demonstrated in Hawking's video.
Only in the later stages of planet formation when earth’s atmosphere cleared would direct light from the already existing sun, moon, and stars be visible from the earth.
This data corresponds to Genesis 1:16 for day four when viewed in the context of the Hebrew language. "And God proceeded to 'make' (a•sah) the two great luminaries...., and also the stars." (the Hebrew word 'a•sah' does not mean to create, but rather to bring to completion).
The common perception of the Genesis account has been; creation took place in six literal 24-hour days, and the sun, moon, and stars, were created on day four. These recent scientific discoveries remove much confusion about Genesis account of Earth's creation.
