Talk-Show Seeks to Launch a Flat-Earther into Space
Contact: Bob Enyart, 303-463-7789

DENVER, Colo., Sept. 6, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- According to ScienceAlert.com, 34% of U.S. adults 18 to 24 years old either reject or are unsure about the world being a sphere. Since it is possible that the firsthand experience of flying into orbit would cause a flat-earther to reverse their position a crowdfunding Kickstarter page has been created to purchase a ticket aboard a Virgin Galactic flight for one of the leading flat-earthers (or aboard a competitor like Blue Origin).

"This could bring hundreds of thousands of people back to scientific rationality," says Bob Enyart, host of the Real Science Radio broadcast out of Denver Colorado and creator of the Kickstarter page. Co-host Fred Williams chimes in, "If you're a flat-earther this is your chance to expose the conspiracy!"

The leading flat-earther, whomever he or she will be, will need to agree to publicly report on the experience beginning from the acceptance of the space offer, including at least one report on the day of the launch during or shortly after the flight, and at least once a week for a month afterward. This author's written (and/or audio & video) reports will be published at rsr.org/flat-earth and at other media outlets.

The Real Science Radio team will identify the top five flat-earth authors via an analysis of Google and Amazon rankings. The funds being raised through Real Science Radio's Kickstarter project will be used to purchase a ticket aboard Virgin Galactic, currently priced at $250,000. So far, about $34,000 has been raised. The Kickstarter deadline for raising the full amount is September 25th and as Enyart is eager to point out, "If we don't meet our goal, your credit card doesn't even get charged."
