MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 2 /Christian Newswire/ -- Watoto, an holistic care program serving the needs of Uganda, announced today its 23-city U.S. schedule for its worldwide tour 'Restore Tour: Child Soldier No More'. This scintillating, free stage production chronicles the child soldier and the northern Ugandans who have endured some of the worst atrocities known to man.

Designed to share a story of courage and restoration from the Ugandan region with the rest of the world, the production will give audiences the opportunity to meet the people, hear their stories and share in their new found freedom, dignity and hope, as well as provide financial support. Set to the backdrop of vibrant music, dance, drama and multimedia (vimeo.com/12844830) this highly poignant live production is intended to illuminate the realities of what has taken place.

Host cities include Spring Lake Park, MN: La Grange, IL; Virginia Beach, VA; Dresher and Lansdale, PA; Memphis and Jackson, TN; Norcross, GA; Wesley Chapel and Sarasota, FL; Austin, El Paso, Katy, San Antonio, Houston and Southlake, TX; Ardmore and Tulsa, OK; Springfield, MO; Chanlder, AZ; Los Angeles and San Diego, CA; and Issaquah, WA. "In Uganda, we found a community - men, women and children left despondent, desperate, stripped of dignity, value and hope. Our goal and mission is to restore what has been lost and we are committed to seeing Gulu and its surrounds flourish in the years ahead," Watoto's founder Gary Skinner said.

The tour features children like Geoffrey, who was abducted at the tender age of 12, along with his brother and father and forcefully drafted into the rebel army. Geoffrey experienced the horror of watching his brother being shot as he tried to escape. After serving as a child soldier for a year, Geoffrey was shot in battle and left behind. He was later found and rescued by government forces. Today, he is a studious pupil in secondary school at Watoto's Suubi Children's Village and looking forward to the day when he will be able to care for his remaining family members.
