URBANDALE, Iowa, Sept. 30, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- The FAMiLY LEADER Foundation is partnering with dozens of national and state-level organizations – including Focus on the Family, the Newsboys, Liberty University, National Religious Broadcasters, and more – to challenge Christians to spend 40 days in prayer, from Sept. 30-Nov.8, in preparation for the upcoming Election Day.

The call to prayer, called #Focus4Forty, utilizes the If 7:14 prayer ministry's free, downloadable phone app to send participants reminders to pray twice daily, at 7:14 a.m. and 7:14 p.m.

For the 40 days leading up to the election, the If 7:14 phone app's daily alerts will focus on prayer for our nation in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
