AMARILLO, Texas, Feb.1 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today said that a Utah House committee's passage of a bill to outlaw most abortions in the state is part of a national wave of opposition to abortion on demand. The measure, HB 235, would bar abortions except in cases of reported rape or incest or when a pregnancy threatens a woman's life or "major bodily function."
"The culture of death is dying," said Fr. Pavone, "and its foundation, the system of abortion on demand created by Roe v. Wade, will crumble. In state after state, people are saying that the destruction of innocent life and its subsequent heartache must end. Utah's legislation could bring that goal closer to reality."
