SAN DIEGO, Jan. 19, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today, Saturday January 19th, history will be made as thousands of people from across California and Mexico will walk for life, asserting that human life must be respected and protected from conception to natural death.
The public is invited to participate in this inspiring family-friendly event beginning at 9:00 a.m. and running until noon in Balboa Park on the corner of 6th Avenue and Laurel St., San Diego.
This week marks the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a decision that has opened to the door to over 55 million lives lost to abortion in our country. The San Diego Walk for Life is a day to remember the lives lost and wounded by legalized abortion and to challenge people to recognize the beautiful gift of life.
"Today we stand for social justice for all where women's reproductive rights are respected and protected because men, women, and children deserve more than 40 years of legalized abortion." Said Timmerie Millington, Media Coordinator for the San Diego Walk for Life.
Speakers at the walk include Walter Hoye - Founder/President of Issues 4 Life Foundation (Master of Ceremonies), Charmaine Yoest - President/CEO of Americans United for Life, Dr. Jim Garlow - Senior Pastor, Skyline Church, Rancho San Diego, Dran Reese - Director of The Salt and Light Council, and many other powerful speakers who will share their testimonies.
"History will be hard on pro-abortionists, just as it is hard on those who were pro-slavery. Why? Because they were morally wrong," said Dr. Jim Garlow. He continues, "There are tours in Germany of the concentration camps, of the killing centers. Someday there will be tours of the abortuaries in America, the present day killing centers. And tourists will ask, 'where was the church? Why were people silent?' I do not want them to be referring to me. I will not be silent."
