PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 25, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- National and local Philadelphia pro-life organizations to hold two day event demanding these babies are given a proper, timely and dignified funeral and burial service.

Sunday, August 25, will include a rally with national pro-life leaders from 6:00-8:00 P.M. It will be held on the campus of Drexel University in Bossone Research Center, which is located at 3140 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
After the rally at 8:00 P.M., participants will have a candlelight processional from Drexel to the closed abortion clinic of Kermit Gosnell. There they will hold a candlelight prayer vigil.
On Monday, August 26, at 11:00 A.M. there will be a news conference, prayer vigil and public witness in front of the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's office demanding a proper and dignified burial for the babies murdered by Gosnell.
The address of the Medical Examiner's Office is 321 University Avenue, Philadelphia 19104.
Activists will be kneeling in prayer in front of the Medical Examiner's office with the names of all the babies that were murdered by Kermit Gosnell which are still at that office.
Some will be risking arrest if they are asked to leave.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Washington, D.C. based Christian Defense Coalition, states,
"It is appalling and reprehensible for the City of Philadelphia to keep these children in storage at the Medical Examiner's Office for up to 10 years after so many have requested they be released to them and given a proper and dignified funeral and burial.
"The official guidelines and regulations set forth by the Medical Examiner make it clear that any 'interested' party can put in a request asking for any unidentified person to be released into their care.
"Numerous national and local faith and community organizations have put in written formal requests for these children.
"The conviction of Kermit Gosnell on murder charges makes it clear that these babies are 'persons' and must be afforded the same equal rights as anyone else under the law.
"It is tragic and barbaric that government officials are playing 'abortion politics' with these innocent babies. These children were brutalized once by Kermit Gosnell. We are now demanding that they are not brutalized again by the City of Philadelphia."
