ABINGDON, Maryland, Mar. 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- TechBrick is a home school robotics club that has fielded seven robotics competition teams over the past three years through the FIRST Robotics program.
On Wednesday at noon five wild-card slots opened for high-school-level teams (VEX) to attend the International Competition in Atlanta in April.
"They have less than 48 hours to raise $6000 to attend this event. But this team has what it takes to win at this level and I'm confident they will raise the support they need to get there." Says Marco Ciavolino, Director of TechBrick Robotics.
TechBrick VEX is ready. They won the Innovate Award in the NJ state championship and ran the first 'ball stealing' robot in the nation in the DE state championships. "We're ready to go," says team member, Amy. "Just a few tweaks and we can compete to win."
TechBrick is the sole representative for Maryland in the VEX program in Atlanta and they intend to represent their home state well.
The FIRST program was founded by Dean Kamen of Segway Scooter fame. Last year the program engaged children 5-18 in a range of robotics challenges. More than 130,000 students built 10,652 robots with the help of 37,000 mentors and 21,000 event volunteers from more than 70 countries.
TechBrick VEX invites you to visit their website at http://www.techbrick.com for more information about this exciting program and our team of young engineers.
