NASHVILLE, Sept. 16, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- After intense public interest to see the new faith-based movie 'Suing the Devil' culminated in one man driving 3 hours in the rain to see the film, the filmmakers have decided on an official church release.
"This will bring the film more quickly accessible to the public," says a spokesman for the production. "We've been inundated with requests from churches of all denominations to show the film to their congregations sooner rather than later."
As the film has seen record numbers attend pre-screenings at churches across the country, the filmmakers wanted to make the church license easily available. The church license will be available on a special link.
"This film will open the eyes to the tactics of the Enemy unlike any other film of the last 100 years," says one pastor. "It's a terrific evangelical tool much like a Harvest or Billy Graham Crusade."
Suing the Devil, the highly-acclaimed film opened in select theaters nationwide on August 26, 2011. It had the second highest-grossing average of any independent film in the nation and was the #1 Christian movie in America for two weeks.
Suing the Devil stars Malcolm McDowell, Rebecca St. James, Corbin Bernsen, Shannen Fields ('Facing the Giants'), Tom Sizemore, Ros Gentle, and Bart Bronson. Hillsong also participated in the movie shot in Sydney, Australia.
In the film, Luke O'Brien, a washed-up janitor turned night law student, decides to sue Satan (Malcolm McDowell) for $8 trillion dollars. On the last day before Luke files a default judgment, Satan appears to defend himself. On Satan's legal team are 10 of the country's best trial lawyers. The entire world watches Legal TV to see who will win the Trial of the Century.
