CINCINNATI, Jan. 10, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- As thousands of children's ministry leaders prepare to descend on Orlando and San Diego for the upcoming Children's Pastors' Conferences (CPC), Standard Publishing is poised to unveil customer requested curriculum updates, host in-booth VBS presentations, and welcome three of its authors and partners to workshop stages.
Thanks to the feedback of the very ministry leaders attending the events, along with the faithful teachers who use it each week, the HeartShaper® children's Sunday school curriculum will introduce several updates this fall. At the event, attendees will be able to see the first previews of these updates, which include new convenience and a new contemporary look.
Also in the booth, conference attendees will experience live presentations featuring the music and missions components of "God's Backyard Bible Camp" VBS. Beth Guckenberger, author of the new release "Tales of the Defended Ones" and Executive Director of Back2Back Ministries, will touch hearts as she shares the life-changing impact of the Kids Serving Kids mission outreach, a central new part of this year's VBS. The outreach will spark kids' passion to serve as they help meet the needs of orphaned kids in Mexico. Booth visitors will also be treated to mini-concerts of live music from award-winning Christian artist Yancy, who will be singing several of the inspiring new songs she has written for this year's VBS.
In addition to sharing the impact of this service-centered VBS from the Standard booth stage, both Beth Guckenberger and Yancy will be offering their unique ministry expertise in conference workshops. Yancy will discuss ways to equip leaders and volunteers with fun, easy, and life-changing tools that draw kids to God through music in her workshop, "C'mon Clap Your Hands." Beth will lead two workshops. The first provides a godly perspective on how to be agents of reconciliation in a world that loves division in "Reconciliation, Keeping Conflict Out of Your Ministry." The second, entitled "Reckless Faith," is all about motivating and inspiring weary children's ministry workers.
Author Gayla Gongdon will be signing copies of her new book "Disrupted: Cultivating a Mission-Focused Life" in the Standard booth and leading a workshop entitled "Building Missional Families: Helping Parents Develop a Missions Heart in the Lives of Their Children." She will explain how to help families create a family mission statement and focus on serving others in their community and around the world.
"We are thrilled to continue partnering with the dedicated servants who are the heart of children's ministry," says Stephanie Woeste, VP of Marketing for Standard Publishing. "By visiting the booth and attending our ministry partners' workshops, and even enjoying Yancy perform VBS songs live from the main conference stage, these leaders will experience a wide range of our helpful resources from VBS to missions to the weekly curriculum that keeps their kids steadily growing in Christ."
